Your LIFT Therapist

I am a wife, mother, Mimi (grandmother), sister, friend, and dog-lover. I try to make time for my family, church, studying God’s Word, my three rescue dogs, gardening, writing, creating, and deep-thinking.

I am a therapist—and a fellow human—living one day at time, trying to enjoy one moment at time, and finding hope and freedom in this challenging, sometimes heartbreaking, beautiful world.

I graduated with Honors from Campbell University with a Master of Education in School Counseling and am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of NC. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Liberty University with a concentration in Life Coaching. Having worked in both school and clinical mental health counseling settings since 2019, I have experience working with a variety of clients, and, while I consider myself culturally competent, I am continuously learning and growing.

My personal and professional experiences underscore the belief that most people have within themselves the strengths and abilities to successfully work through and overcome many of their concerns—but need help identifying effective solutions. I meet each person where they are—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—with a spirit of compassion, transparency, support, and understanding. Each session is an opportunity to foster and strengthen a safe, comfortable, and accepting atmosphere where clients can be honest and open, the therapeutic relationship develops, and the work of healing begins.

I enjoy working with adults of all ages experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and emotional instability, as well as concerns with unhealthy/low self-concept, anger, relational challenges, life transitions, grief/loss, and spiritual concerns. Utilizing an integrative therapeutic approach, I draw from a variety of theories and techniques, including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and working toward certification. I am a Christian and offer Christian and spiritually integrated therapy upon a client’s request. I anticipate offering couple’s counseling services in the near future.

Suffering and struggle are common to all human beings—you are not alone. I hope you will allow me to meet you where you are today—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually—with a spirit of compassion, support, and understanding. Let the journey of healing and freedom begin.
